This is worth downloading to hear the Harlem Boys Choir version on Bean's "Nothing Like It" alone, not to mention it being classic mid-00s hip-hop.  This one mainly focused on the hits that Ye had produced up until then and snippets of future hits like Jesus Walks & Two Words.  State Prop + Kanye beats = automatic hit.

CLASSIC VIDEO: Kanye West feat GLC & Consequence - Spaceship (2004)

"Takin' my hits, writin' my hits
Writin' my rhymes, playin' my mind
This ------ job can't help him
So I quit, y'all welcome
Y'all don't know my struggle
Y'all can't match my hustle
You can't catch my hustle
You can't fathom my love dude
Lock yourself in a room doin' five beats a day for three summers
That's a Different World like Cree Summers
I deserve to do these numbers
The kid that made that deserves that Maybach
So many records in my basement
I'm just waitin' on my spaceship"

This song is dedicated to everyone working a dead-end job (especially retail) and looking for a career and not a job. I used to play this song everytime I got off of work from Macy's (ironic he's there in this video). At 4:26 he makes the final celebratory walk from a wack job that we all can't wait to do.

I think GLC summed it up for me when he said:

"In the mall 'til 12 when my schedule wore headset nine
Puttin' them pants on shelves
Waitin' paitently I ask myself
Where I wanna go, where I wanna be
Life is much more than runnin' in the streets"

Even though this was shot in 2004 it wasn't released until last year.

Kanye says: I DIRECTED THIS VIDEO FOUR YEARS AGO BUT I WASN’T SATISFIED WITH IT SO I NEVER RELEASED IT. BUT NOW LOOKING BACK AT IT I LIKE IT.

BONUS VIDEO:

This song sampled Marvin Gaye's classic "DIstant Lover"

CLASSIC MIXTAPE: Kanye West - Behind The Beats Presented By Ferris Bueller & Plain Pat (Instrumentals) (2003)

behind the beats 1 Kanye West Behind The Beats Mixtape (2003)

Before the VMA Awards outburts and Amber Rose, Kanye West was actually, believe it or not, known for making dope music.  This is a instrumental mixtape narrarated by the Kanye To The and he tells the story behind some of his classic beats.  He doesn't have any annoying drops on these instrumentals either.  He's guaranteed to have you cracking up and his interludes alone are still worth the download 7 years later.  This is required listening for any hip-hop head because Soul Sample Era Kanye is top 3 all-time for me (dare I say he's #1).

QUESTION: I lost alot of my pre-College Dropout Kanye material, but what song did he use the Intro beat on?

CLASSIC VIDEO: Dilated Peoples ft Kanye West - This Way (2004)

"I want a good girl, she want a gentleman/ we sayin the same thing like a synonym"

This right here is powerful music that touches on real issues in a dope way. One of my favorite videos and songs and sorta like part 2 of Talib's "Get By." SOOOOO many symbols in this video: the guy being chased by bills, the guy juggling the females, the hazzy headed guy always high, the guy beating up himself, the girl chasing money, etc.

VIDEO: Classic Kanye West Interview from 2003 Pre-College Dropout

"History repeats itself, he makes the rhymes and the beats hisself/ The only child syndrome make hits on my own, and I'mma look in the mirror if I need some help"

Kanye (before the car wreck) talking about everything from his musical influences to fashion and spitting a few verses that wound up on mixtapes, College Dropout and later albums. Many of the clips in this were later used in the "Through The Wire" music video. This is the Kanye that I fell in love with musically before he got all weird lol. College Dropout era Ye is easilly in my top 5 (With Pac, Big, Dre 3000 & Jay-Z).
